DIY Kitchen Plate Stand + Hand Soap Giveaway from Mrs. Meyer’s

October 13, 2016 by Katie Anderson Leave a Comment

This post is sponsored by Grove Collaborative & contains affiliate links, however all opinions are my own.

There’s something about the smells of fall that make this season so distinguishable. Burning leaves. Hot apple cider. Pumpkin pie. One whiff and your nose knows…it’s fall!

That’s why I was super excited to find out that my favorite hand soap from Mrs. Meyer’s had come out with a brand new line of fall-scented soaps this year! The 2 featured scents, Apple Cider and Mum, are so pleasant you’re gonna be going all “Molly Shannon” on smelling your hands! 🙂 They really do smell that good!

I placed a recent online order through Grove Collaborative – formerly EPantry – and was so excited to get to try out these hand soaps in both my kitchen and my bathroom this fall. You can read all about why I love using this company and their eco-friendly products in a post I wrote back in March here.

But first, I want to share with you a cute little DIY up-cycled kitchen plate stand that I created to accompany this awesome smelling soap.

I wanted to create a simple plate stand that could hold my current kitchen sink “ammo” when it comes to tackling my dishes & counters – dish soap, hand soap, vinegar cleaner, sponge & veggie brush.

I really like this cute little round bamboo veggie brush I added to my order from Full Circle. It’s made from recycled plant fiber bristles and at only $4.99 it was too good a deal to pass up.

My go-to spot for almost all my up-cycling projects is Goodwill. Everything is so reasonably priced and many things I find there are still in excellent condition, they just need to find a new home and a new purpose.

I found a simple white ceramic rectangular plate and a solid brass candle stick holder at my local Goodwill for $1.50. Total! Can’t beat that! I painted the candle stick holder with grey chalk paint, then sealed it with a coat of clear wax so it wouldn’t matter if it got wet sitting next to my kitchen sink.

Then I attached the ceramic plate on top of the candle stick base using some metal bond adhesive, and voila! Simple plate stand complete! Now my soaps are nice & elevated, away from counter clutter, plus easy to reach when I’m hard at work at the kitchen sink.

Right now Grove Collaborative is offering a really fantastic promotion for you to get a free Mrs. Meyer’s hand soap and $10 off* your first order, plus free shipping. *You will need to place a minimum of $30 worth of product in your cart in order to receive the $10 off.

Once you’ve signed up for your first Grove Collaborative order, the hand soap + credit will automatically appear in your cart, you just get to choose which scent you’d prefer! This offer is good through Jan. 31, 2017.

And guess what? If you refer someone else to Grove, then you get another $10 credit when they sign up, just for sharing the love!

Wanna get your kitchen & bathroom smelling as good as mine does right now? Then give this awesome offer a try!
