Thanks for stopping by my blog here at Have a Little Faith!
I am a wife and mother who is striving to do the best she can each day in raising 3 kids, encouraging a hard-working husband, and living my life for Christ.
I’m a country gal at heart – our family currently resides in a rural part of Wisconsin – surrounded by some of the prettiest Dairyland you’ve ever seen. We dream of owning our own hobby farm…someday…and adding to our love for animals and the quiet country life.
Speaking of animals…We have one spunky dog that we adopted named Annie, two crazy cats named Luna & Hermione (Harry Potter nerds, anyone?), a friendly white fish named Blizzard and a whole brood of chickens. I love my feathered ladies!
You can read more about our adventures in raising backyard chickens here.
I’ve worked in the non-profit world for 10+ years, mainly in Marketing & Communications.
I’m a writer by trade. I like to look at my job as professional storytelling.
I also volunteer part time at my children’s school as a librarian. #booknerdforever
My love for DIY and re-purposing also keeps me busy.
I collect vintage items. I have a slight obsession with home improvement projects & rearranging my furniture, but bottom line – I love creating anything with love and a little faith.
More About My Blog
I have always had a love for the written word. As a child, one of my favorite places to go was the library, where I could check out a book and escape into stories.
As I grew up, my love for writing evolved. I have a degree in Mass Communications and have written for many different venues, and published everything from poetry to non-profit newsletters to magazine stories and local newspaper editorials.
But my absolute favorite kind of writing is journaling…telling a story through life’s events. I still have a collection of filled journals from throughout my childhood tucked away in my closet.
I am very passionate about children’s literature and can’t stress enough the importance of spending time reading with your kids.
Creating All Things with Love & a Little Faith
Being a creatively minded person can be a blessing and a curse. I sometimes have a hard time shutting off my brain when it comes to ideas…and don’t even get me started on Pinterest and the hours of …wasted invested time I’ve spent on there! But here is an awesome message on creativity from one of my favorite devotionals, Jesus Calling, written by Sarah Young: (hint: she writes this as Jesus would be speaking directly to you) “I, the Creator of the Universe, am the most creative Being imaginable. I will not leave you circling in deeply rutted paths. Instead, I will lead you along fresh trails of adventure, revealing to you things you did not know. Stay in communication with Me. Follow my guiding presence.”
Since I have such a love for using my creativity, it is a wonderful opportunity to bless others. I love the art of re-purposing items. Finding something old, forgotten and castaway and breathing new life into it is my specialty. Each item is one of a kind, and many are thrifted or tossed away items just waiting to be turned into a new purposeful creation.
I am a child of God and Jesus is my Rock and Savior. God has empowered me to do bigger things than I could ever imagine possible. Everyone is called to experience their own unique faith journey in this life. I pray that you would be inspired to find yours! #keepthefaith
He replied, “Because you have so little faith, Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20-21
