In October, I was offered an amazing opportunity to return to work in the non profit world, something I was thrilled to be able to do again. I left my job working in non profit in 2016 to be a stay at home mom, and while I’ve enjoyed the down time with my family these last few years, I knew my heart really missed my work. God knew it too, because there’s no other way this particular role would have found me otherwise.<\/p>\n
I said goodbye to my days of chocolate making and got back into the groove of a desk job again. I’ll be able to split my time between the office and working from home, so that’s a very nice perk that I appreciate having.<\/p>\n
It’s been a bit of an adjustment for all of us to have mom back working again in this capacity, but I think we’re pretty much over the hump now and falling into a groove.<\/p>\n
At home, we’ve been plugging away at our basement remodel, one tiny step at a time. This fall, we finally finished installing the egress window in my daughter’s future bedroom. And now we’ve moved onto framing out the walls and hallway.<\/p>\n
Hopefully by January we’ll have all the electrical, lighting and drywall underway, because our goal is to have both girls in their own separate rooms by February.<\/p>\n
This Christmas season here at home has felt a bit less enthusiastic this year…not sure if it’s all the hustle and bustle, combined with a pandemic-weary world right now, but I finally just decided that I’m OK with it being more low key for a change.<\/p>\n
As my kids get older, it becomes less about the toys under the tree, and more about the time we spend together as a family.<\/p>\n
I’m afraid my holiday house tour won’t be too extravagant to show you this year, but I’d still love to share a post next week highlighting how I’ve decked the halls this Christmas.<\/p>\n
