You know when you hit that part of the summer when you’ve really had just about all you can take of the hot, humid weather and you just want to enjoy something completely opposite of the season you’re stuck in? Well, we hit that mark here this week and decided to have a little fun with planning a Christmas in July day!<\/p>\n

I’ve actually wanted to plan one of these days for a few years now, and as odd as it sounds, we really enjoyed being able to savor some Christmas cheer smack dab in the middle of the summer. I think it’s pretty safe to say we’re pretty big Christmas-nuts over here at our house, so we didn’t really need an excuse to celebrate our favorite time of the year.<\/p>\n

I invited my very\u00a0pregnant sister and my mom to join me and the kids for a day of Christmas movies, baking and festive attire. They didn’t disappoint in that department! I just about died when my sis showed up in her Christmas onesie jammies! Stylish!<\/p>\n

My mom came decked out in holiday jewelry and the kids each got to pull out a Christmas shirt from their winter clothes bins.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We decided we were going to make 2 Christmas favorite treats, but put a bit of a “summer twist” on them. We made Frozen Hot Chocolate and Oreo Truffle Ball Melted Snowmen.<\/p>\n

The truffle balls were messy to make, but so delicious when finally finished. They sort of ended up kinda misshapen, but that’s ok, since they were supposed to be melted snowmen anyway.<\/p>\n

We had fun drawing funny expressions on their faces with black gel icing and then popping them in our mouths.<\/p>\n
