Sunshine and daffodils are so good for the soul, wouldn’t you agree?
I couldn’t be happier that spring is finally here!! The days are finally getting longer, the temps are finally staying warmer and all around us things are waking back up to life! After what feels like an extra long winter, I am so looking forward to a new season ahead.
Spring has sprung in our kitchen as well. Today I wanted to share with you a few of the little spring decorating touches in this space. I only decorated this room and our dining room for the season this year.
I went with lots of pastels and bunnies to mimic what’s happening across the way in our dining room.
This built-in hutch in our kitchen is great for swapping out decor for the occasion. I can usually keep the same pieces as “staples” and just mix and match other items in for the holiday of choice.
This colorful wreath was made by my mom a few years ago. It’s all mason jar lids with pretty scrapbook paper decoupaged over the top. I think we were on a kick with crafting stuff out of mason jars when she made this.
A blue mason jar with spring flowers? Yes, please! All the rain we’ve been getting lately has really helped green everything up outside.
I enjoy mixing in vintage decor too – like these cute little cookie cutter bunnies.
And who doesn’t love a carrot or two when decorating for Easter? These orange and white checked ones are from Hobby Lobby this year. I stuck them all over.
So are these adorable gingham checked paper straws. I mean, come on. I know they’re just straws, but how stinkin’ cute are they?
While we were in Minnesota a few weeks ago, I stopped by a clearance Home Improvement store and scored on this cute new rug for the kitchen. It was a steal at only $20! These blues, greens and creams are all my kitchen colors tied together.
There are some other big changes coming to this space soon too. After almost 12 years in our home, we’ve decided to give a few things a bit of a much needed face lift, so stay tuned for that! I am excited for making our kitchen a more functional space, especially since I spend 90% of my time in here.
It’s amazing how many hours I spend either planning a meal, making a meal or cleaning up after a meal for our growing family of 5. I know someday I will miss it when it’s gone, but really, there are days I wish I could hire a chef to replace me for just one week!
Ina? Ree? Molly Yeh? Anybody want to come cook for me??
