I am a wife and mother who is striving to do the best she can in raising 3 kids,
encouraging a hard-working husband, and living my life for Christ each and every day.
I’m a homegrown country gal, born and raised – our family currently resides in a rural part of Wisconsin – surrounded by some of the prettiest dairyland you’ve ever seen. We dream of owning our own hobby farm…someday…and adding to our love for animals and the quiet country life.
We have one spunky dog that we rescued from a shelter named Annie, a shy calico named Sweet Pea, and a whole brood of chickens that we’ve affectionately named Fluffy, Spices, Ruby, Joey & Glumpy. I am well on my way to earning the title of crazy chicken lady, but I love my feathered ladies!
I enjoy reading, singing praise and worship music, spending time outdoors with my family, drinking tea and eating chocolate! I collect vintage items and like re-purposing things. I have a slight obsession with home improvement projects & rearranging my furniture, but I love creating anything with love and a little faith.
I do feel like many days I am still in the process of finding myself amid all the chaos. It is a challenge to juggle it all, but God constantly reminds me that even a little faith is sometimes enough. Thank you for stopping by my blog!
I have always had a love for the written word. As a child, one of my favorite places to go was the library, where I could check out a book and escape into stories.
As I grew up, my love for writing evolved. I have written for many different venues – published everything from poetry to non-profit newsletters to magazine and local newspaper editorials.
But my absolute favorite kind of writing is journaling…telling a story through life’s events. I still have a collection of filled journals from throughout my childhood tucked away in my closet. While I don’t get to do it as often as I like anymore, hopefully, with this blog, I will be able to get that “fix” that comes with releasing your thoughts on the page (or screen.)
I also worked for many years in Marketing for a Christian non-profit, so this blog represents an outlet for me to continue doing something professionally that I love.
And most recently, I have begun working on a children’s book that I hope to get published one day soon! I am very passionate about children’s literature and can’t stress enough the importance of spending time reading with your kids.
Being a creatively minded person can be a blessing and a curse. I sometimes have a hard time shutting off my brain when it comes to ideas…and don’t even get me started on Pinterest and the hours of …
wasted invested time I’ve spent on there! But here is an awesome message on creativity from one of my favorite devotionals, Jesus Calling, written by Sarah Young: (hint: she writes this as Jesus would be speaking directly to you) “I, the Creator of the Universe, am the most creative Being imaginable. I will not leave you circling in deeply rutted paths. Instead, I will lead you along fresh trails of adventure, revealing to you things you did not know. Stay in communication with Me. Follow my guiding presence.”
Since I have such a love for using my creativity, that God has indeed blessed me with, my online shop gives me a wonderful opportunity to bless others. I love the art of re-purposing items that are “homegrown” with love. Finding something old, forgotten and castaway and breathing new life into it is my specialty. Each item is one of a kind, and many are thrifted or tossed away items just waiting to be turned into a new purposeful creation. For those looking for a bit of inspiration in their lives, check out what the Have a Little Faith Shop has to offer!
I am a child of God and Jesus is my Rock and Savior. I’m not exactly what you would call a “risk taker” in life – most of the time you’ll find my feet planted pretty firmly on the ground and my adventures don’t go too far. But while God has given me a spirit of meekness, he also has empowered me to do bigger things than I could ever imagine possible. Some examples of this would be the global mission trips I’ve taken in the past, singing & leading worship at my church and starting up Have a Little Faith. Everyone is called to experience their own unique faith journey in this life. I pray that you would be inspired to find yours!
He replied, “Because you have so little faith, Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20-21
